Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches Near Portland, Maine: What Is Actually Open in 2026
There is a corn maze in Falmouth, one town north of Portland, on a farm that has already published its 2026 opening date, its hours, its admission price and the design cut into the corn. Neither of the two listing sites that rank for "corn maze near Portland Maine" mentions it. Both of them do list a farm in Limington whose own website says, in the first sentence, that it is no longer an operating farm.
That is the state of this topic in August 2026, and it is why this guide exists. Everything below was read off the farms' own websites on August 3, 2026. Where a farm has not published something, this page says so instead of filling the gap.
One more warning before the list. Search "pumpkin patch near Portland" and roughly half of what comes back is Portland, Oregon: Sauvie Island, the Willamette Valley, a magazine called PDX Parent. Oregon owns this query outright. Check the state on every result you did not get from here.
The one inside the ring: Hurricane Meadows, Falmouth

Hurricane Meadows is the only corn maze I could verify inside the towns this site covers, and it is also the best-documented fall operation in the region. Its 2026 season runs September 11 through November 1, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, plus Monday October 12 for the Columbus and Indigenous Peoples Day holiday. Hours are 10am to 6pm every open day.
Admission is $15 per person. Children under two are free. A season pass is $50, which pays for itself on the fourth visit, and there is a group rate for parties over 20 by reservation. Online tickets go on sale September 1, and tickets bought online are good any day of the 2026 season rather than being tied to a date, which is unusual and useful given how much a Maine October weekend can turn on the forecast.
The maze is five acres and split in two. The farm's own FAQ puts the kiddie maze at about 15 minutes and the full maze at 30 minutes to an hour, with maps and staff inside if you lose the thread. The 2026 design is a partnership with Portland Hearts of Pine, the city's professional soccer club, cut with the club's "Lead With Your Heart" motto.
Beyond the maze there are over four acres of pick-your-own pumpkins sold by size, a pick-your-own sunflower field sold by the stem, jumping pillows, a corn pit, a potato cannon, a paintball range and a train. This is a farm festival, not a quiet u-pick field, and the $15 is priced accordingly. Two honest notes: bathrooms are port-a-potties with hand-washing stations, not plumbing, and the farm stays open in all weather short of unsafe conditions with no refunds and no rain checks.
One oddity worth knowing, because it will confuse you if you go looking: the site's own Corn Maze page still shows the 2025 maze map and says "Stay tuned for 2026 dates" while the Calendar and Pricing page has the firm 2026 dates and price. Trust the pricing page. We checked both.

The best-known one: Pineland Farms, New Gloucester
15 Farm View Drive, New Gloucester. Season opens August 20, 2026. Pumpkin patch opens September 26.
Pineland is outside the 25-minute ring but close enough that plenty of Portland families treat it as local. Its five-acre maze runs August 20 through November 1 this year, tickets on sale August 15, with the pumpkin patch opening September 26. Access is bundled into a two-hour farm pass that also gets you a self-guided walk through the farmyard. Pumpkins cost extra.
Here is where you need to be careful, and it is the single most useful thing on this page. Pineland publishes two live corn maze pages, and they disagree. One carries the 2026 dates above and was updated on July 30 of this year. The other, still live and still linked from the first one, is a blog post from October 2025 that reads "2025 OPENING AUGUST 21 to OCTOBER 31" with the pumpkin patch opening September 27. Both look official, because both are official. A search engine or an aggregator that lands on the older page will publish last year's calendar with full confidence.
The 2026 fall admission price is not published anywhere on Pineland's site. Every "$6 admission, $6 per pumpkin, farm closes at 6pm" figure circulating online traces back to a single event page from 2022 that still has COVID-era policy links on it. The two-hour pass is indeed listed at $6 in Pineland's own shop for early-August 2026 dates, so the ballpark is probably right, but nobody should print a 2022 pumpkin price as though it were this year's. Wait for the August 15 ticket release.
The full-day version: Pumpkin Valley Farm, Dayton
100 Union Falls Road, Dayton. Weekends, September 26 through October 25.
Dayton is a real drive, and the farm's own directions page warns that GPS routinely sends people to a Union Falls Road in Buxton instead, on the wrong side of the river. Read it before you leave.
The payoff is the most complete fall festival of the three. Five-acre maze that the farm says takes about 45 minutes, redesigned every year, plus a jumping pillow, corn pit, duck races, a cow train and wagon rides, all included in admission. Pick-your-own pumpkins are 65 cents a pound with anything five pounds and under at a flat $5. There is brick oven pizza and beer at a stand called the Rusty Bucket on weekends, 11 to 4.
The 2026 calendar is published and specific: Saturdays and Sundays September 26 through October 25, 10am to 5pm, plus October 31 and November 1 from 10am to 3pm, plus Columbus Day October 12 from 10am to 5pm. Ticket sales and maze entry close an hour before the farm does.
The gap: the page is headed "2026 Hours/Admission" and lists everything admission includes without ever naming a per-person price. Tickets are sold only at the farm on arrival. The only dollar figure published is the $10 per person school field trip rate, so treat that as a floor and expect to pay more. They also run an adults-only "Wine Your Way Through the Maze" night with wine and chocolate stations inside the corn, advance tickets only, 2026 date not yet posted.
The free one: Alewive's Brook Farm, Cape Elizabeth

If what you actually want is a pumpkin out of a field and not an afternoon of attractions, this is the answer, and it is the closest of the four to Portland. Alewive's runs "Pumpkin Patch by the Sea" through October and into November. You park, grab a wagon, walk out to the field, pick your pumpkin and pay for it at the market on the way back. Admission is nothing. The only cost is the pumpkin, and the weekend kids' games are free with a purchase. Market hours are 10am to 6pm.
Two things to know. The patch moves between fields as they rotate, and the farm says plainly to come prepared to walk and that strollers and wheelchairs will struggle on the uneven ground. And their pumpkin page carries no year anywhere on it. It says the patch is "located in a new field this year" with no way to tell which year that sentence was written in. A nav link elsewhere on the site is labeled "Farm Life to 2019." Call 207-799-7743 before you drive out in early October.
Note also that several directories credit Alewive's with a corn maze. The farm's own page lists pumpkin tic-tac-toe, pumpkin memory, a pumpkin toss and a felt design station. No maze.
What the listing sites get wrong, specifically
This is the part a directory structurally cannot write about itself.
Hurricane Meadows appears on neither. The only corn maze inside Greater Portland is missing from both cornmazesandmore.org and pumpkinpatchesandmore.org, the two sites that rank for this query in Maine.
Doles Orchard in Limington is still listed as operating. The directory entry offers pick-your-own pumpkins, free hayrides, apple picking and a straw maze at 187 Doles Ridge Road. The farm's own homepage says: "Doles Orchard Is no longer an operating farm." The woodworking shop is still there. The orchard is not.
Alewive's Brook Farm is credited with a corn maze it does not claim. See above.
The freshness stamps tell you the rest. One entry on those pages carries an update stamp reading October 18, 2012. Another was last touched July 4, 2025. A visitor comment from August 10, 2020 sits in the middle of the Maine listings. These are volunteer-maintained pages doing a real job badly rather than a scam, but they are the top result for a query with real money behind it.
The pattern is the one we found writing the apple picking guide and again with fall festivals: the aggregator is stale, the farm's own page is usually current, and the farm's own page is the one nobody sends you to.
Which trip to pick
Small children and one Saturday: Hurricane Meadows. Closest, dates certain, and the two-tier maze means a four-year-old is not dragged through an hour of corn.
A pumpkin and nothing else: Alewive's. Call first, and spend the $15 you saved on lobster from the same farm's market.
The full day with a drive attached: Pumpkin Valley, last weekend in September, when everything on that farm is running at once.

Why do searches for pumpkin patches near Portland return Oregon results?
Because Portland, Oregon has a far larger and better-optimized fall agritourism scene, and search engines resolve the bare word "Portland" toward the bigger city. Sauvie Island alone outranks the entire Maine field. Adding "Maine" to the query helps but does not fix it, so check the state on every result. This same trap catches apple picking searches and most Maine fall queries.
Are dogs allowed at corn mazes near Portland?
